DO Bring Her to the Gym
An open letter to James Fell.
Dear James...
I am sincerely saddened by the article you posted titled "Don't Bring Her to the Gym". If your gym is your "church" as you claim it is, then I am glad I am NOT a parishioner...
The reasons you provide to your readers, that involve such statements as "You Can’t Check Out the Babes" and "You’ll See Her at Her Worst" are completely mind-boggling to me.
Not only do they come off as chauvinistic, but they make us men look like a bunch of sweaty pigs that care more about catching a glimpse of some womans' ass at the gym then we do about our physical fitness. "You'll see her at her worst"? OMG. Really? I have seen much worse, from childbirth to child-loss, and can safely say that a sweaty wife is NOT at her worst. In fact, some might say that a sweaty wife is a good thing... for a multitude of reasons, but I digress. :)
The thing you're not taking into account is this: some men are best friends with their significant others. I am. We were best friends long before we were married. That being said, working out is supposed to be fun, and who better to have fun with at the gym then your best friend?
I continually encourage all my friends to get in shape with their signifiacnt others, as I think it's much easier to reach your goals when you have someone right there with you, who loves you, pushing you along. I try to go to the gym every morning with my wife, as I find it very motivational, and a great way for us to do something healthy while catching up with each other. Hopefully soon she will be ready to hit the trail with me and start running, which I think will be great, since I run alone right now.
Readers, what's your take on this?

Very nice post. It’s my first visit here, but I’ll be back for sure. While I hadn’t read the post that inspired this one (and I’m not sure I will, given your response), I appreciate your commitment that healthy lifestyles should be something we do together.
It’s a great way to build relationship with our loved ones. My wife and I work out together whenever possible.

Thank you very much Chris. Glad you enjoyed the post. I just feel that those who work out together help to motivate each other, and why not spend the time with someone you love, right?
Hope you enjoy the rest of the site as well!
